Do I need to save my receipt?

Yes. Your receipt is required to file a claim.

Do I need to register my plan?

No. You do not need to register your plan for it to be active. However, you will need your receipt to file a claim, so be sure to keep it in a safe place.

How can I cancel my plan?

Bring the receipt for your plan back to the store where you purchased it for a refund.

How does my plan work with the manufacturer's warranty?

Most items come with a manufacturer's warranty that lasts 90 days to one year from the date of purchase. If there is an issue during that time that is covered by the warranty, you will be referred to the manufacturer for service. If there is an issue that is not covered by the manufacturer during the warranty period but is included in your Allstate Protection Plan, the plan will cover it.

What is the Allstate Whole Home Electronics Protection Plan?

The Allstate Whole Home Electronics Protection Plan covers eligible electronics in your home for mechanical and electrical failures during normal use. Select portable electronics are also covered for life's accidents like drops and spills.

Select portable electronics (covered for product malfunctions and accidental damage) include: hard drives, keyboards, laptops, mice, video game consoles and controllers, smart security cameras, e-readers, tablets, headphones, cameras, camcorders, and wearables.

Non-portable electronics (covered for product malfunctions only, not accidental damage) include: desktops, computer monitors, modems, printers, routers, speakers, woofers, streaming devices, TVs, and projectors, as well as smart home items including doorbells, light dimmers, thermostats, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and door locks.

Once you purchase the plan, any eligible electronics you already own, plus eligible electronics you buy while your plan is active, are automatically covered. It doesn't matter where or when you bought them, and you can cover as many items as you need.

There is a $2,000 per claim limit and an aggregate claim limit of $5,000 during a rolling 12-month period.

What is the difference between a manufacturer's warranty and the Allstate Whole Home Electronics Protection Plan?

Most manufacturers’ warranties only cover one specific item for a set amount of time. The manufacturer’s warranty also usually only covers defects in materials or workmanship, and most don’t cover power surges.

But with the Allstate Whole Home Electronics Protection Plan, you can cover as many eligible items—new and existing—for as long as your plan is active. The plan covers mechanical and electrical failures during normal use, including power surges. Select portable electronics are also covered for life's accidents like drops and spills. No proof of purchase is required, and you don’t need to register your products.

When does my coverage start?

Coverage starts as soon as you purchase the plan.

Doesn't homeowner's or renter's insurance cover electronics?

In most cases, homeowner’s and renter’s insurance will cover a loss due to theft, fire, wind or storm damage. But the Allstate Whole Home Electronics Protection Plan will cover the repair or replacement of your covered items in the event of a mechanical or electrical failure during normal use including power surges.

What is a service fee?

A service fee is a non-refundable fee that is due before each repair or replacement provided under the plan. You must pay the service fee with a valid debit or credit card before we service or replace your item.

Is there a time limit on how long I can cover certain electronics?

No. As long as you have an active plan, your eligible electronics are covered.

Do I need to register my eligible items and keep receipts for proof of purchase?

No. There is no need to register eligible products or keep receipts.

What information do I need to provide in order to file a claim?

You will need to provide the make and model number of your eligible product. In some cases, the serial number may also be required.
