He is the author of numerous books, including The Old Testament: Text and Context, Studying the Ancient Israelites, and the bestselling Manners and Customs in the Bible. James C. Moyer (PhD, Brandeis University) is professor of religious studies emeritus at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, and the author of numerous articles.
